Schedule of Classes

The Program: FAQ

What is a class like?

Members are asked to arrive 5-10 minutes before, but no later than,  the official start of class (refer to the online scheduler for official class times). This will allow adequate time to warm-up and ensure that class gets started on time. Actual workouts begin no later than 10 minutes after posted start time. Your trainer will spend the first 10 minutes making sure everyone is properly warmed-up, explaining and demonstrating the workout and it's movements, assigning modifications and substitutions to those who require them, and assigning weights. Each class will address one or more elements including strength, cardio-respiratory endurance, mobility, flexibility, and core.

Will I be evaluated?

Every client is evaluated, but the method of evaluation will be determined on an individual basis through a one-on-one consultation.

What about Nutrition? Will I have to pay extra?

Most membership packages include a minimum of 30 minutes per month of one-on-one which can be used for personal training or nutrition counseling. You will be provided with everything you need to begin developing healthier eating habits.

What if I have injuries?

This is a very popular question among potential members. Most of us do have injuries. It's hard to get through 50, or 40, or even 30 years of active living without something breaking. Most of the injuries we see are relatively easy for an experienced trainer to work with. Rarely, we come across an injury that requires more attention than a group training program allows. Let us evaluate you, and if we don't think this program is right for you, we will let you know.

Am I too out of shape for this?

We've heard this one on more than a few occasions, "I am going to join your gym, but I have to get in shape first."  Come on in, we'll make sure that you are comfortable with the level at which you are training. Unlike your average bootcamp, this is not a "beat down" program. You will work hard, but our goal is to provide you with a program that you feel comfortable with, one that you can see yourself sticking with for the rest of your insanely long and ridiculously active life.

Could I be too old for this?

Not likely! You will be evaluated on physical ability and fitness level, not chronological age. We seen 50 year olds out perform 30 year olds and women out perform men.

Do you train children and what is the minimum age?

The youngest we've ever had in our group training program was 13. However, children are evaluated individually based on physical maturity, as well as the desire to participate and the ability to follow directions.

What if am a competitive athlete?

Our group training program transfers incredibly well to endurance sports. Triathletes find it particularly beneficial. However, if you are a team sport athlete, power or olympic lifter, or a wrestler, a specialized training program is more suitable. Our strength programs will help athletes to develop the physical power to excel in any sport.

Other group workout programs suggest 5 days per week, why do you recommend 3?

We don't sell workouts, we sell results. The goal is to provide the client with the greatest result in the shortest period of time. Therefore, freeing up more time for the important things in life (e.g. family, friends, recreation, and unfortunately work). After all, isn't that all we are looking for? To look and feel our best, both mentally and physically, and to continue to do the things we love to do.

We utilize an often overlooked element of strength and conditioning in order to achieve quicker results. That element is rest. Positive results are made in the recovery time between workouts. This is the time when our cells begin repairing themselves, allowing us to get stronger. Without the proper recovery between workouts, time and nutrition, results can be muted and the risk of injury increases.

In most group training programs, 5 days per week is more likely to lead to injury than optimal health and performance. This is because those programs are built on the growing misconception that a "no pain, no gain", military "bootcamp" approach is necessary for peak fitness. Gyms with this bootcamp mentality construct "one size fits all" workouts containing movements that are just plain dangerous for most, repetition that is completely unnecessary, and inadequate recovery time. Inevitably, this leads to injury.

The 3toLife Program is built to optimize recovery, and our trainers will provide you with the knowledge necessary to prevent over-training. In our program, it's not that you can't train 5 days per week, it's just that you won't need to.

What if I don't feel comfortable with group training?

If group training isn't right for you, we also offer personal training. Give us a call for personal training package and pricing information.

What is the cost?

Monthly programs run from $99-$149 per month (as low as $7.15/session). We also sell punch cards for traveling members and those just looking to mix up their workouts. BGI also runs regular introductory specials for new members.

Can I try it?

Absolutely. Single sessions can be purchased for $20, or you can try 3 Sessions for $45. If you decide to join by the end of the week, we will apply the fees toward your initial package.

How do I schedule?

First timers, please call or stop in to schedule an appointment. Members can schedule classes through our online scheduler.

Do I have to sign a contract?

We do not currently use contracts. Monthly membership fees are billed automatically to the credit card or checking account of your choice. All fees can be stopped with 15 days notice.
